It’s time to go cherry leaves viewing (if you can catch a glimpse of sunshine). Our Vancouver cherry trees are turning a beautiful shade of orange.

It’s time to go autumn leaf viewing (momiji-gari in Japanese).

Here’s an idea: go back to your favorite cherry blossom viewing spot and take a picture of  your favorite sakura tree. You’ll get beautiful “before” and “after” pictures.

Cherry trees in autumn

Cherry trees are so beautiful in autumn with their leaves turning yellow and orange.

This picture was taken yesterday on Homer street, between Dunsmuir and West Georgia.

Thanks to the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival interactive map, I found out that they were Shirofugen cherry trees. I can’t wait to see them in bloom again.

Cherry blossoms display

Cherry blossoms in September!  Strolling on Granville street this week-end, I noticed this beautiful window display with cherry branches. I just had to stop and take a picture (Lavan, Body Mind and Soap, 840 Granville).

Those cherry blossoms made me very nostalgic. Don’t you miss seeing the city in pink?
