Looking to Get Involved?
2023 Festival Opportunities

Join a community of engaged and curious nature lovers and support the mission to bring joy, beauty, mindfulness, and connection to the lives of your neighbours!
Humans need trees and other humans. Deeper connections to the environment around us and to the people we share this land with have a positive impact on our mental health, our happiness, and our sense of belonging. VCBF is dedicated to those pursuits and we’d love your help in making that happen.
We seek volunteers of varying ages and abilities. And the experience can be great for learning new skills and lasting tools to accomplish your own personal goals.
This year, we are looking for team members to join us for our two biggest events: The Big Picnic at David Lam Park (Saturday, April 1, 2023) and Sakura Days Japan Fair at VanDusen Botanical Garden (Saturday, April 15, and Sunday, April 16, 2023).
Sign up to be a volunteer for the 2023 Festival here.
Volunteer Application Deadline is Monday, March 13, 2023.

The Festival is specifically looking for Cherry Scouts for every Vancouver neighbourhood. Cherry Scouts photograph and report to the Festival on the progression of the blossom so everyone can enjoy the show! To learn more about being a Cherry Scout please click here: Cherry Scout. Why Volunteer With Us?
If you have a passion for our 43,000 flowering cherry trees and like meeting new people, our festival events offer a wide range of fun and exciting volunteer positions for you.
At the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, we pride ourselves on building community and diversity. Civic pride soars during the Festival month of April. We seek to build local pride and a sense of responsibility towards the individuals that make Vancouver and Canada such an inspiring place.
By volunteering with us you have a uniquely personal experience to reconnect with community in-person safely out of doors and connect with nature. You’ll help bring joy, hope, and beauty to festival goers from a variety of ethnic, professional, and personal backgrounds. You’ll learn first hand “there is no stranger under the cherry tree.
We also offer volunteer training and project opportunities that will give you lasting tools for accomplishing your own goals.
