Get moving and sign up to be a volunteer for BreakOUT, an immersive audio-enhanced 20-minute movement piece transmitted through headphones as a live event. It is a fun group movement experience, or communal dance, while you focus on listening to the gentle prompts of choreographer Kat Single-Dain’s scripted score with additional audio elements. We invite you to celebrate with us for BreakOUT and experience beauty, nature, and the joy of cherry blossoms, and others in heightened new ways in various Festival outdoor venues.

What we’re looking for:

• Energetic, outgoing dancers or people who like to move their bodies. No experience is necessary!
• Be able to demonstrate and encourage attendees to participate along with you in a guided movement experience to music that celebrates our wondrous cherry blossoms and aims to ground each participant in nature and connect to others around them.
• Uses observation skills to notice if an attendee might need some extra assistance or accommodation.
• Must be available Saturday, March 30, 2024 for ‘The Big Picnic’ and other events (dates TBD).
• Attend a rehearsal workshop in advance (there will be at least one).

We accept people of all ages, body types, and dance abilities (you could have formal training or just love to dance in your kitchen!). A $25 honorarium for your attendance at rehearsal is offered.
