Rakugo is a traditional Japanese comic storytelling. The stories usually came from humorous incidents from daily life in the Edo period (about 400 years ago). OKEICHAN will tell Rakugo in English on an intimate special stage only using small props and gestures. She believes laughter is universal, and laughter makes us all feel happy.

The Japanese flute known as Shinobue reverberates with tradition going back hundreds of years. Keiko’s repertoire includes Japanese traditional folk songs as well as Western compositions. It will be Keiko’s honour and joy to spread the sounds of this special instrument, sounds that resonate nostalgically for all Japanese people, sounds which she hopes will equally resonate with the people of Canada.
