April 19, 2026 If you do not like pink and you live in the Vancouver area, you had best stay inside for the next two weeks. If you do like fluffy pink flowers, just go outside – there will be ‘Kanzan’ trees in bloom near you. Surely there is at least one of these trees on every block, and they can grow quite large – many streets are lined with them on both sides of the street, forming a very showy canopy. The bronze leaves will soon be turning green, as the flowers fade toward white. Thanks for Taka Naidu for this photo.
