Vancouverites talk a lot about the rain. This spring the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival will embrace the rain and celebrate the blossoming of our city’s 40,000 ornamental cherry trees through the Cherry Blossom Umbrella Dance! Shiamak Davar, a powerhouse of talent, choreographed this high energy dance routine to bring the joy of dance to everyone and get Vancouver out dancing this spring. Shiamak has introduced to the world new dance forms which are an amalgamation of contemporary jazz and western dance forms fused with his own enthralling personal style.

As if the explosion of cherry blossoms aren’t enough to get you dancing; "Zoobie Doobie" will. The lyrics for our Umbrella Dance "Zoobie Doobie" is from a popular Bollywood film, "The 3 Idiots". and refers to the feeling you have when you fall in love and you're crazy, out of your head! As we're crazy for cherry blossoms, Zoobie Doobie is perfect.
